In an appalling breach of safety and basic decency, Air India once again finds itself embroiled in scandal. A journalist, who recently was travelling to San Francisco from Karnataka’s Bengaluru shared a harrowing experience on social media after discovering a metal blade in his in-flight meal.

The incident occurred on Air India flight AI 175, where journalist Mathures Paul was supposedly enjoying a meal of roasted sweet potato and fig chaat. That enjoyment was abruptly shattered when he felt an unmistakable piece of metal in his mouth. Upon inspection, he was horrified to find it was a metal blade.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Paul shared his harrowing experience, writing: “Air India food can cut like a knife. Hiding in its roasted sweet potato and fig chaat was a metal piece that looked like a blade. I got a feel of it only after chewing the grub for a few seconds.”
