The Lagos State government has shut down hotels and business outlets in the Ikorodu area of the state over noise pollution, and other environmental offences.

The state’s Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who confirmed this in a statement on his X handle on Friday, said the move followed a recent enforcement operation in the area.

He lamented that several establishments, including hotels, bars, gas filling stations, poultry farms, and lounges continued to flout the state’s environmental protection agency’s directives despite warnings.

The commissioner listed the affected businesses as Victory Hotel, Wendy Bar, Moore Gas Plant, Provider Farm and Poultry, Cloud 24, Little Palace Hotel, City Groove Lounge and Bar, Destiny Castle, and B.S. Gold Warehouse. READ ALSO: Ogun shuts down company for violating environmental rules
