The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved a minimum wage of ₦80,000 for civil servants in the state.

The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, disclosed this to journalists on Wednesday in Ibadan.

He said a technical committee set up by the state government recommended and got the governor’s approval for the implementation of the new new minimum wage.

The commissioner noted that the National Bureau of Statistics ( NBS) in its latest employment statistics published rated Oyo State as the most worker-friendly in the Southern part of the country due to a significant decline in the state’s unemployment rate.
