No. of Paragraph 18

As reported by the Ministry of Energy, the BYD Atto 3 has now ceded its top position as the most popular model to Tesla. More than 500 cars of the Tesla Y model have been ordered, unimpressed by the new car price of well over 20 million forints. In the competition between the brands, Tesla holds 2nd place with a total of 800 orders, while BYD is clearly in the lead with well over 1,300 orders thanks to a broader model range (Atto, Seal, Dolphin, ETP3). Volvo follows in third place with a good 400 electric cars ordered.

The state has offered economic players a total of 30 billion forints in subsidies to convert their fleets to electric cars. The conditions for participation were relaxed at the end of October, which encouraged a further 500 companies to take part. However, on average only 1.2 vehicles are allocated to each applicant, so individual purchases clearly outweigh โ€˜fleetsโ€™. The Ministry of Energy continues to promote the programme and electromobility, the progressive spread of which has contributed to a 7% reduction in pollutant emissions in Hungaryโ€™s transport sector in 2023 compared to 2022.
