Veris Technologies, a pioneer in soil sensing technology, recently unveiled CoreScan. This groundbreaking automated soil sensor probe offers unparalleled insights into the soil profile, driving informed and profitable farming decisions. By integrating advanced sensor technology, CoreScan delivers high-definition maps of soil compaction, nutrient and water storage, organic matter/carbon and more. By revealing yield constraints previously hidden beneath the surface, this new tool revolutionizes soil management practices.

In the mid-1990s, Veris Technologies introduced on-the-go soil mapping, a technology adopted in 66 countries. Now, the company is once again at the forefront of agricultural innovation with the launch of CoreScan.

โ€œWe are thrilled to introduce the CoreScan,โ€ said Tyler Lund, Vice President of Business Development. โ€œThis probe measures what matters most to farmersโ€”the factors that cause yield and nutrient levels to go up and down across their fields. Farmers and their advisors can now digitize the rooting zone, giving them the detailed information they need to optimize their crop management practices, ultimately enhancing yield and sustainability.โ€

A 10-field, 5-state study revealed that using CoreScan and the Veris data processing system, has the potential to remove the most significant errors of conventional sampling and showed a 35% improvement in phosphorus recommendations. Andrew Bulfer, a crop advisor in central Illinois, shared his experience, stating, โ€œThe ability to map soil characteristics throughout the entire rooting zone allows us to look at fields in ways weโ€™ve never been able to in the past. One of the most useful features is the map that shows at what depth compaction begins to restrict root development. Whenever I show the CoreScan data to farmers, they are very impressed; it reveals things about their fields theyโ€™ve never seen from any other technology and drives new questions and thoughts around management practices.โ€
