KUWAIT CITY, March 28: The MEED magazine reported that the Kuwait Oil Company has extended the deadline for submitting bids for a project involving the installation of pressure and depletion systems and sulfur recovery units in several early production facilities, reports Al-Anba daily. The project, valued at approximately $380 million, had its deadline extended until April 21. This extension follows multiple previous postponements, with deadlines set for December 17, March 19, and February 18. The latest extension comes amidst efforts by contracting companies to secure approvals amid the country’s political situation. The project entails installing compression systems and recovery units at the Early Production Facility 50 and Jurassic Production Facility 3. Bidding documents were initially released on September 17, 2023, with December 17 set as the initial deadline for bids. However, sources indicated that delays were expected due to an expanded scope, which included additional pressure systems, potentially increasing the project’s value beyond the initial estimate.
