Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the election of highly-respected club owner, philanthropist and administrator, Hajj Olawake Gafar Liameed as the new chairman of Lagos State Football Association (LSFA).

This follows a letter that was sent by the NFF on Wednesday to formally acknowledge and approve the impeachment of Honourable Fouad Oki as the LSFA’s chairman.

The NFF’s confirmation comes despite reports that Oki has gone to court to contest his removal, which was effected by an extraordinary emergency congress of the LSFA.

The NFF’s affirmation came in an official letter signed by its new acting secretary-general, Mr Ademola Olajire, in which the nation’s football governing body also noted the emergence of Gafar as LSFA’s new chairman.
